Kunsthistorisches Museum
New ways open new doors.

“To bring art to the people” has always been the goal of the Museum of Fine Arts in Vienna – and it does so with public tours, special offers for children and a rich choice of projects. In order to create new impulses for the museum, moodley developed the campaign “Museum of Fine Arts in the public space”.

Task

How can art be brought to the people – in a direct and simple way? And also to those who do not come into contact with the arts a lot? By giving them the opportunity to enjoy art outside of a museum. The goal of the campaign: To inspire and fascinate at the same time.

Solution

moodley duplicated famous paintings from the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts and displayed them in 29 locations all over the city of Vienna. In the process, building walls, construction sites, underground stations, train stations and shops became public museums. There, historians explained and told the history of the different paintings to the spectators. In addition, moodley also took care of the redesign of the annual ticket gift cards.
